Do you fancy becoming a volunteer gardener?
In recent years, the Friends of Townhill Park House Gardens have overseen the restoration of the beautiful gardens at Townhill Park House, and they are always looking for volunteers to assist with the ongoing upkeep of the listed Gertrude Jekyll gardens.
If you would like to join The Friends, the annual subscription is £5 for individuals or £8 for families. Members enjoy exclusive access to the gardens twice a year during 'Members Only Afternoon' events. In addition, members receive regular newsletters and invitations to special, restricted-entry events. The subscription fees and proceeds from open days are managed by the Treasurer and are used to purchase items such as plants for the gardens. To become a member or for more details, please contact Luke Enticknap.
A book titled The Life and Times of a Gertrude Jekyll Garden by Rosaleen Wilkinson is also available for purchase. This book offers a fascinating insight into the history of this grand country house estate. For more information on how to obtain a copy, please contact Rosaleen Wilkinson via email.
There are also regular 'Posse Days' where volunteers can come and help maintain the gardens. If you’re interested in volunteering, please contact Ted Waite for further information.
We hold Open Days throughout the year, when everyone is welcome to visit the gardens. The dates for 2025 are:
Sunday, 23rd March: 2-4 pm
Monday, 5th May: 2-5 pm
Sunday, 6th July: 2-5 pm
